 Remapping
your ECU (Engine Control Unit) produces some very impressive BHP gains. We
overwrite the manufacturers original engine control program (map) with an
optimized program, this is called re-mapping (chipping). The best BHP gains are
achieved with turbo petrol & turbo diesel vehicles, up
to 35% increase in BHP & 45% increase in torque.
Non turbo engines give typical gains of 10 to 15%
A
remapped program is optimized to run the engine far more efficiently than
standard, therefore fuel economy is also improved.
All
re-mapping is done through either the vehicles OBD II diagnostic port or by
connecting directly onto the ECU using a specialist programming device, so there
is no stripping or soldering of the vehicles ECU involved. This is a totally
invisible way of re-mapping that would make it impossible to tell that the car
had been modified, even if the ECU was removed and opened.
The
original program can be re-loaded if you are selling your car or for any other
reason.
RE-MAPING
Via OBD Optican Flashing
With 5 years of experience in the tuning business, We know how to get more
power out of a car and now we have been introduced the next gereration Optican
OBD to ECU flashing technology. Here at EXTREME TORQUE
we remap cars for more power by flash programming the ECU which is not
only quick but also invisible to diagnostic tools and reversible. OBD port
programming allows us to remap an ECU (Engine Control Unit) without removing the
ECU from the car, the remapped software is uploaded direct to the ECUs EPROM via
the vehicles diagnostic socket, this allows for the performance conversion to be
totally invisible with no soldering or removal of components.
ECU
CHIPPING (Eprom chiptuning)
We also offer an ecu chipping service, This is where we remove the chip which
holds the map information which is located inside the ecu. This chip is then
read and wrote direct then resoldered back into the ecu. We only use chipping on
most older pre year <2000 ecus which cannot be remapped via OBD. at the end of
the day chipping is the same as a remap, just a different method of putting the
new remap information into the ecu.
BDM
REMAPPING (555Pro bench remap)
The ECU must be removed from the car and is programmed by special springs which
locate and make contact with the manufactors service and flash points without
having to solder on the circuit board. This method is used for example if a car
has no connection from the OBD connector to the ECU or for very new ECU
versions. The best tool for this is the is our brand new 555Pro BDM allowing to
to tune car not only quick but also invisible to diagnostic.
